Check out Absolut Vodka’s Rock Edition footage at ABSOLUT Rock Edition. Presenting the Absolut Vodka Rock Edition, we’re being served some rather terrific footage of rock-and-roll photographer Danny Clinch and the rock band Wolfmother.

The whole thing is being presented on the website in a timeline following Danny Clinch and Wolfmother  while recording and performing in LA. Notice the Tags Search option which is also pretty neat.

Pretty awesome but then again so is Absolut Vodka ain’t it!? ;)

Told you I was gonna post a little something of what I’ve been doing during my post-graduate Multimedia in KHM. Tomorrow we’re heading into week 4 and this is a sneak peek at what we’ve been doing during 3D class in Autodesk 3ds Max. Might look easy and all but believe me, it sure isn’t! Considering I’ve only been able to install and configure Boot Camp and 3ds for a week now. Take a look at this and please don’t judge me.. just yet. More to follow, promise!

Remember Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk and all the user generated content it triggered. Whether you prefer the Daft Bodies or the Daft Hands – I think their both great – both videos were a huge success. Generating over 40.000.000 views combined – Am I reading this right?! The fact Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger is a compelling track made it perfect for this use.

Lately “I got a Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas has been used on several occasions and this next video will most definitely turn a smile on your face.

The video is a lip-dub video brought by Canadian students at UQAM during their integration week. 172 Communication students participated and it was shot in a single take.

What just happened?! In the past 48 hours President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. Say what? The Norwegian Nobel Committee seems totally off – awarding the Nobel Peace Prize – sounds more like a sick joke to me. Like The Man (President Obama) hasn’t been idealized enough already? Don’t get me wrong, I am PRO Obama! But the guy is doomed to fail. After 8 years of mischief by the BUSH-administration he took office in a time of war, terrorist threats, global recession and a flu epidemic. Meanwhile The Man is trying to reform the US healthcare system and of course let’s not forget the environmental climate problem. President Obama is basically doomed to fail! Being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.. worst thing that could happen next is President Obama receiving the title of saint by the Vatican. Unlikely you say – something tells me 48 hours ago you would’ve said the same thing about him receiving the NPP. Anyway give him a break – he ain’t God nor almighty. The more he’s being idealized and glorified, the greater chances are he’ll fail to accomplish all these expectations. It has been a most interesting 48 hours on the internet with all these eerie and surreal phenomena.

Got my bachelor degree last year at Erasmushogeschool Brussel in Marketing & Communications. I mostly did my internships in advertising agencies so I’m pretty hooked on advertising. Had to pop the big question: “What’s next?!”.
I had some sort of job offer (a 6 month project) and one of my professors told me I should accept that offer (after all we are in some shitty “recession”). But she also told me that even if I did accept that offer I should keep track of all internet evolutions in advertising and communications. So it was up to me to figure out what would be the next step!?

Guess what? I did not accept the offer (cheers to you guys) but I did listen to the 2nd part of my professor’s advice – that’s why I’m taking on this post-graduate “Multimedia” at the Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen. Classes have started for two weeks now and we’re a small but solid group of 7 persons, mainly with a communications background.

So now you know what I’ll be doing the next 9 months – actually you probably don’t. A little round up of what this post-graduate “Multimedia” contains:

- Web Technology: xHtml – CSS – JavaScript
- Content Management System: Drupal
- Audiovisual techniques: Premiere, we might have some After Effects, drawing Storyboards, basics of movie scripts etc..
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- Flash
- Web Usability: Read: “Jakob Nielsen” and more..
- 3D & Animations: Autodesk 3ds Max (this is freaking complicated)
- Graphic aesthetics: Color use, Typography, etc.
- Interactive Marketing
- …

So this will tell you a little more on what I’ll be spending most of my time on from now. If you don’t care – you shouldn’t have read the whole thing. ;) I’ll be posting more on some of our classes (hopefully) very soon.

Do you remember this one?  Ah childhood memories – looking back, this is definitely one of the most bizarre movies I remember. I’ve forgotten all about this movie – until, I think it was last week, it suddenly just popped up in my mind riding the cable car. (“Why?”, you say) Well I especially remember the “bad guy” in this movie – there’s a fella on the cable car that actually looks exactly like him (that’s why). Anyway I had “Howard the Duck” on tape growing up and I must have seen it a million times (along with some other great movies).

Enjoy the epic opening scene / trailer (I’m not sure). Great movie – great childhood memories!

Note: George Lucas is actually listed as Executive Producer on Howard the Duck.
